This is Terry the tick and he has a very important role!
He was created by Greening Ringwood to raise awareness and get people talking about the risks of infectious diseases that ticks pose in the UK, largely due to climate change, during warmer months and milder winters.
As part of our Health Impacts of Climate Change pillar, Terry helps people learn how to stay safe and enjoy their time in nature and be aware of what to do avoid ticks, how to check for them and what to do if you find one.
Terry often goes on tour to other communities to help them spread the word too (here he is having a welcome cuppa and biscuit on his arrival before exploring Greening Bishops Waltham) – Well done Terry!
