It is important to carry out surveys in your community to know what wildlife and habitats you already have. The surveys will also help to identify what is missing in particular areas of a community and help direct what work needs to be done to support, maintain or create habitat areas for existing species.
Silchester ran their survey in September and asked fellow residents for help in identifying what wildlife they could spot in their gardens.
These surveys are part of the Space for Nature pillar and Hampshire and IOW Wildlife offer training to communities to help run them.
Such important work, well done Silchester!
